# Introduction

Aavegotchi is a radical experiment in player-owned gaming economies.

We envision a world:

* where all the items you earn in a game are shared across every game you play;
* where the line between gamer and developer is blurred;
* where players truly own the assets they have earned

It’s not an easy path. But it’s something worth building.

## Our Vision

To create an interoperable, player-owned gaming ecosystem that educates, entertains, and empowers players to join the growing onchain economy.

## Our goals

* **Educate.** Teach players about decentralized finance and provide a fun and accessible way for people to learn about and participate in the onchain economy.
* **Entertain.** Create games and content that players enjoy playing and supporting.
* **Empower.** Give players the tools to create their own gaming content, and become active creators in the onchain economy, not just passive consumers.

## **Get Involved**

There are many ways you can participate in the burgeoning Aavegotchi gaming ecosystem:

* **Play our** [**games**](https://docs.aavegotchi.com/gaming/live-games)**.** A growing catalogue of games offers players novel crypto experiences and ways to "play and earn" -- having fun while [earning crypto](https://docs.aavegotchi.com/own/earning-in-aavegotchi).
* **Participate in DAO governance.** Holding Aavegotchi [assets](https://docs.aavegotchi.com/gaming/assets) gives players power to help steer the direction of the protocol and make decisions, both big and small.
* **Attend our events.** We regularly hold events, both online and offline. Join, say hi, and maybe even cop some exclusive Aavegotchi merch!
* **Build something**. Whatever your skillset, there's a way you can contribute to our ecosystem, whether it's building games, developing dapps, constructing dashboards, or simply helping us organize information better. See [AavegotchiDAO](https://docs.aavegotchi.com/governance) for more information on applying for funding.
